UPPER EAST SIDE

Since moving to the Upper East Side (more specifically the Yorkville section), the boyfriend and I pride ourselves on our ability to hardly ever leaving "the bubble." Sure, this can be seen as "anti-social" or strange, but we love this bubble and have a great group of friends who are totally on our page.

Here are some of my favorite places and things all centrally located in the bubble:

Mole - 1735 Second Avenue
They have happy hour from 4 to 7 - everyday. $5 house margaritas that are to die for and $5 quesadillas and guac and chips. Yes, please!

Fairway Market - 240 East 86th Street
The only reason I'm not devastated about not living within walking distance to a Trader Joe's is because  of the amazing, wonderful Fairway. Plus, Fairway just created their own version of Nutella and it's 40 fewer calories per serving than the real thing. Oh, and it's delicious.

Manny's on Second - 1770 Second Avenue
Great seasonal beer on tap. Plenty of TVs. A photobooth. Oh, and Manny is an adorable french bulldog. That's all icing on top of the best buffalo chicken wrap and waffle fries ever. It makes 'Wrap Wednesdays' that much sweeter. I was brought to (happy) tears when they started using Seamless.

Carl Schurz Park - East End Avenue to East River, East 84th to East 90th Streets
Although we do not have a dog yet, this very dog-friendly park is on the East River and surrounds Gracie Mansion. There's incredible views of Roosevelt Island's Lighthouse and the RFK/Triborough Bridge if you rather look at the view rather than people and dog-watch (my preference).

The Bullpen - 1678 First Avenue
Tuesday Trivia, great bartenders and a cozy backyard. Do I really need more?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - 1000 Fifth Avenue
This is such a given. I always fantasized about living walking distance of my favorite museum and now I am. Between the permanent collection and the rotating exhibits (especially on the rooftop), it doesn't get much better than this. Remember that the admission fee is suggested.

Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum - 1071 Fifth Avenue
Frank Lloyd Wright. Do I even need to continue?
