Just when adult life got so busy and overwhelming, I was able to escape upstate and spend the weekend (well basically just Saturday) with my mom and grandma. I can't believe an entire summer has basically gone by and just now did I get this one-on-one time with them. It was worth the wait.
For lunch we drove to The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA (about a 40 min drive from Hudson, NY). It is such a quaint town (no cell towers = no cell service!) and was the home of Norman Rockwell. We had a delicious lunch. I had a lobster roll and a killer Bloody Mary.. followed by a very boozy large "Rockwell" iced coffee (Kahlua, Brandy and Creme de Cocoa). Highlight of the relaxing meal outside was the adorable waitress "warning" me that the bartender told her my iced coffee had "a lot of alcohol." Yes. It. Did.
It's only Monday and I'm already counting down until LDW when I can head back up to Hudson and spend the day at the Columbia County Fair.
